Herring and Beets Canapés

Cut the fillet into medium-sized pieces (I cut each piece in half).

Peel the beets and slice them into rounds about 0.5–1 cm thick.

Spread a very thick layer of cream cheese on top of each beet slice.

Carefully cut the beet slices with the cheese into pieces roughly the same size as the herring pieces.

Thread a piece of herring onto a skewer, followed by a piece of beet.

Then add another piece of herring, followed by another piece of beet.

Arrange on a serving platter and garnish with fresh herbs if desired.
