The holidays are just around the corner, so here's another appetizer idea worth having up your sleeve. Today I'm sharing a way to serve chicken liver pâté nestled in cucumber. We'll make a refined pâté — using both butter and cream cheese, along with extras like balsamic vinegar, cognac, and spices. Of course, all of that is optional, and you're welcome to use your own favorite liver pâté recipe. Besides sesame seeds, you can roll the balls in crushed nuts, crackers, or anything else you like.
Ingredients:
- Pâté:
- 300 g chicken liver
- 100 g carrots
- 100 g onion
- 60 g cream cheese
- 60 g butter
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- 1 tbsp cognac
- spices to taste (dill, oregano, nutmeg)
- salt and pepper
- Also:
- sesame seeds for coating
- 2-3 long cucumbers

How to cook pâté canapés with cucumber
Heat half of the butter and the vegetable oil in a skillet. Add the finely chopped onion and carrots and sauté until soft.

Add spices to taste (I used half a teaspoon of dried dill and a pinch each of oregano and nutmeg), season with salt and pepper. Add the balsamic vinegar and cognac and cook for another 2–3 minutes.
