Hot chocolate is a wonderful drink for the cold time of year! For something a little special and truly winter-worthy, I suggest making hot chocolate with a touch of spice. It's absolutely delicious! I used a cinnamon stick and a pinch of nutmeg. If you don't have nutmeg on hand, you can skip it — it'll still be great. For the best-tasting hot chocolate, it's important to use a good-quality cocoa powder, preferably Dutch-process, as well as real dark chocolate. My husband and daughter were thrilled! Treat your loved ones to this delicious and beautiful drink! This recipe makes three servings of hot chocolate, about 250 ml each.
Ingredients:
- 500 ml milk
- 30 g chocolate (I used 56%)
- 3 tsp cocoa
- sugar to taste
- 1 cinnamon stick
- a pinch of nutmeg
- For serving:
- 100 g heavy cream 33%
- 1 tsp sugar, leveled

How to cook hot chocolate with cinnamon
Add the cocoa and nutmeg to a small saucepan, pour in the cold milk, and whisk thoroughly to combine. Add sugar to taste and the cinnamon stick, then bring to a boil.

Whip the heavy cream in a separate bowl, adding sugar to taste. Fill a clear glass about two-thirds full with the hot chocolate, then dollop the whipped cream on top and sprinkle with grated chocolate. Serve immediately. Hot chocolate with cinnamon is a wonderful drink for the cold time of year — loved by kids and adults alike. So delicious!
