Pigs in a Blanket

Thaw the dough and roll it out slightly lengthwise to a thickness of 4–5 mm. Cut into strips about 1.5–2 cm wide.

Remove the casings from the hot dogs. Wrap each hot dog in a strip of dough in a spiral, overlapping slightly as you go (the ends of the hot dog should peek out a little).

Something like this.

You can use cheese if you like. Make a small lengthwise cut in the hot dog and tuck in a little coarsely grated cheese.

Then wrap with a strip of dough the same way.

Place the assembled pieces on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Let rest for 15–20 minutes.

Lightly beat the egg and brush it over the tops and sides of the pieces. Place in an oven preheated to 200 degrees and bake for about 20 minutes.

When done, the tops will be nicely golden brown.

Pigs in a blanket can be enjoyed both warm and cold.
