- 0.5 l milk
- 60 g semolina (about half a cup)
- 2 eggs
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1/3 tsp salt
- butter for frying (or neutral vegetable oil)
- Kissel:
- 0.5 l water
- 100 g cherries
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp heaping starch

How to cook semolina pancakes with cherry kissel
Make the kissel. Place the cherries in water and bring to a boil. Boil for a couple of minutes, then add the sugar.

Pour the starch mixture in a thin stream into the boiling cherry liquid, stirring constantly. Turn off the heat immediately and let the kissel cool.

Pour the semolina into the boiling milk in a thin stream, stirring constantly. Cook for 3–5 minutes, continuing to stir (the porridge should be fairly thick). Let cool until just warm.

Add a little butter (or vegetable oil) to a preheated skillet. Spoon the batter into the pan in the shape of small pancakes and cook for 5–7 minutes.
