Almond milk is a popular, nutritious drink originally from India. Almonds are packed with calcium, vitamins, and minerals. In almond milk, all of these nutrients are dissolved and therefore easily absorbed by the body. This drink is especially beneficial for children. Almond milk can be made with or without cow's milk (simply use 300 ml of water total). This is particularly handy for people who avoid cow's milk for any reason. You can substitute sugar for the honey, and feel free to add cinnamon, nutmeg, or other spices to taste. This recipe yields approximately 300 ml of drink.
Ingredients:
- 30 almonds
- 200 ml water
- 100 ml milk
- 1 tbsp honey

How to cook almond milk
Pour boiling water over the almonds and let them sit for 5–10 minutes, then slip off the skins (they come off very easily). Alternatively, you can cover them with room-temperature water and let them soak for several hours or overnight, then remove the skins the same way.

Blend thoroughly for about 5 minutes, pausing as needed. The almond milk will already have a rich white color, just like regular milk.
