
Herring butter is made from just two ingredients — herring and butter. I personally love it best without any extras, since that way you get the most delicate herring flavor. That said, if you'd like to mix things up, you can add finely chopped green onions, capelin roe, half a teaspoon of mustard, or plenty of other things.
