A delicious and beautiful dessert with strawberries hidden inside — so simple to make that even a child can do it, yet it looks incredibly tempting. Now is the perfect time to make it, right in the middle of strawberry season, because this recipe calls for fresh strawberries only; frozen ones, unfortunately, won't work here. The flavor is like big, creamy candies with a rich, chewy texture and a light cottage cheese note, with a burst of juicy, fragrant strawberry inside! You can certainly wrap other berries inside too, but with strawberries it's truly spectacular! This recipe made 15 balls for me.
Ingredients:
- 300 g strawberries (approximately)
- 200 g cottage cheese (smooth/spreadable)
- 200 g shortbread cookies (approximately)
- 100 g butter
- 20 g powdered sugar
- Coating (your choice):
- shredded coconut, chocolate, nuts, cocoa

How to cook strawberry balls
Beat the softened butter with the powdered sugar, or simply mix vigorously with a spoon. Adjust the amount of powdered sugar to taste and depending on how sweet your cookies are.

Add the cottage cheese and mix well. I used 9% fat cottage cheese. The cottage cheese must be smooth and spreadable, not grainy (if you're not sure about yours, press it through a fine-mesh strainer).

You may need more or less cookies. The dough should no longer be sticky and should be easy to work with, but not too dense or stiff.
