The tender flesh of baked apples pairs beautifully with raisins, walnuts, and cinnamon. Firm green apples with a sweet-tart flesh work best for baking.
Ingredients:
- 500 g apples (4 apples)
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 2 tbsp walnuts
- 2 tbsp raisins
- 1 tsp cinnamon

How to cook baked apples
Core the apples. Using a small sharp knife, cut into the top of each apple near the stem, angling the knife inward.

Fill the prepared apples with the raisin-walnut mixture and place them in a baking dish (or simply on a baking sheet). Pour about one-third of a cup of water into the bottom of the dish or baking sheet (this keeps the apples from sticking). Bake in an oven preheated to 180°C. Bake for approximately 20–40 minutes. Baking time depends on the variety of apples (I baked mine for 40 minutes since they were firm apples).
