This is the simplest apple pie I know. You don't even need to knead any dough to make it! Everything is incredibly easy, yet so delicious. This pie calls for no eggs, no kefir, no sour cream — it stays wonderfully moist thanks to the apple juice that the apples release as they bake. The result is fantastic — I highly recommend it!
Ingredients:
- 150 g semolina
- 150 g sugar
- 120 g flour
- 2 tsp vanilla sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp cinnamon (optional)
- a pinch of salt
- Also:
- 100 g butter
- 800 g sweet-tart apples

How to cook simple apple pie
Grate the butter (straight from the freezer works best) on a coarse grater, or slice it into very thin pieces.

Grease the pan with butter (my pan is 20 cm in diameter). Spread about one-third of the dry mixture evenly over the bottom of the pan.

Then add another portion of the dry mixture, another portion of the butter, and the remaining apples. Finish with the last portion of the dry mixture and the remaining butter. The top layer must be butter — try to spread it as evenly as possible. Place in an oven preheated to 180°C and bake for approximately 40–60 minutes.

I liked the pie best the next day — the flavor becomes more balanced: deeply apple-forward, moist, and even a little chewy. The taste is really unique. The pie is great straight from the refrigerator, but you can warm it up in the microwave if you prefer. This simple apple pie comes together quickly and easily — and it tastes amazing!
